(Additionally, a Closing Reception & Artist’s Night will be held at the gallery on Saturday, May 28th 5-9pm.)
The Artist Nonnie Thompson currently resides on two continents. Her new work is inspired by memories & nocturnal desert reveries of both North and South American Landscapes. Each canvas by the artist is painted with a vivid, surreal feeling.. In a mode not unlike that of Henri Julien Félix Rousseau, the French Post-Impressionist who painted a Naïve Primitive style narrative into his works.
Thompson’s experimental “Martini-Drinking Buddha, Pot-Smoking Nun, Mini-Skirted-Burka-Wearing Women and Gun-Toting-Cuban-Revolutionist-Commie-Babe Frida Portrait” are all happily in keeping with what she usually loves to paint. As a visionary, the artist looks forward to following her unbridled passion for ever-piquent, artful and contemplative subject matters sure to make you laugh and think.
